It leaves no place whatsoever for the strongest concept of all. Name me one based upon immoral order. Men can be summoned to revolution, not simply because there is a difference in the method of production, but because there has been a wrong. There is perhaps only one word stronger in the whole economic order than the word wrong, and that is the word right. But if all exploitation is simply a matter of economic determinism as they say, then why be morally indignant at all? The Communist is fond of his protest against economic disorders only when he borrows the morality of Christianity. He is weak when he departs from it. Christianity has no use either for a man or for a system who cannot become morally indignant and rightfully wrathful, even as a just God in the face of the indignities of man to man. There is something childish about communism. There is a child kicks the door because he bumped it, as the golfer breaks his clubs because he dubbed his foot. As earthy as beat the waters of the helis font because they delayed him, so mock through bumped his shins against private property and immediately begins to blame property. It is so easy for us all to fall into that error, particularly when we do not want to be better. The fourth reason why the Church is supposed to come in is because it is anti-American. Once people lose reverence for God, they begin also to lose reverence for their own country. The Church therefore condemns any organization which while enjoying the blessings of our country would instill allegiance to another country. And if you doubt the anti-American character of communism, let us quote for you, the Communist Manual of Organization. Published by the Communist Workers Library Publishers, edited by J. Peters on page 104 of this most secret document is the Ulfable Legion which is taken by all the Communists in the United States. It reads, I pledge myself to rally the masses to descend the Soviet Union, the head of victorious socialism. I pledge myself to remain at all times a vigilant and firm defender of the Leninist line of the party, the only line that ensures a triumph of Soviet power in the United States. Not only does communism make its members a lion themselves with a fallen power, but it also makes them work for revolution in the United States. On page 8 of this most secret Communist document we read, quote, as the leader and organizer of the public area, the Communist Party of the United States leads the working classiness fight for the establishment of a dictatorship of the Soviet Socialist Republic in the United States. I'll think that over. There is not a single Communist in the United States who is working for the destruction of our great republic who would survive five minutes in Russia if he did not blow his nose when Stalin sneezed. To disagree with American policy as a human right for a Communist in America, but a mortal crime for the same man in Russia with a basic defective communism is the inescapable fact of death. The perfect symbol of its philosophy is the cadaver of Lenin, which is periodically given injections to give it the semblance of permanence and then exhibit it in the showcases as if men will to withhold from eternity that which rightfully belong to it. What more pitiful spectacle in all the world and the public generation of a lamp after the oil has been exhausted and the wick has burnt out. This is the unsolved problem of communism because despite all the dictatorial attempts to absorb many to the collectivity, the final breath of a man, individuates, personalizes him. For a time the Communist may feel that he is like fruit on the tree of a classless society in which all hang together as tree clings to skin and skin to pulp and pulp to seed so he clings to potty and potty to poll it bureau and poll it bureau to dictator. But he must remember that a day comes when the fruit falls from the tree, the pulp may become the play of birds but at the core of all is a seed which prepares for another life without potty, without poll it bureau, without dictator and immortal soul. As death separated diverse of the gospel from his five brothers so it will separate you students from your professors who sowed his own stole your face. It will separate the hangers on from the crowd whose every catch word and slogan and style they reflect it. It will separate you fellow travelers from your communist inspiration and every one of you potty members from the central committee and then each of you will have to learn for himself that now is the gate and straight as the way of eternal life and still there are who enter there in. There will be no eternities, short of the one that God judges. There will be no attorneys to plead your case, no alienous to plead that you were not in your right mind because you did wrong. No Freudians to argue that you were not responsible because you had an edipeth complex. All the masks will be torn off. You will step out of the ranks away from the crowds and the only voice that you will hear. It will be the voice of conscience which will not testify in your behalf but reveal yourself as you really are. His x-rays will penetrate beyond all moods and fantasies and illusions. For master Marx who said the person had no value except as a member of a revolutionary class will be given the great lie. You have a value because you have a soul. One by one has the size of death cuts down your ranks and allows the eye to speak and assert itself. Happiness is a meach that is greater than a mech. It is final defeat from which there is no victory. And then shall stand a firm the Christian message that the most precious thing in all the world is your soul. That must one day go to meet your God. And what are you doing about yours? If you want to find out what is really right, stop bending your head to Stalin and begin bending your knees to God. And now we invite you to join Monsignor Sheen as he offers this prayer. sovereign lord and master we fought so long we forgot what we were fighting for. When we left the highlights like tiny gods we quarreled in the twilight of our petty rivalries. Give us in thy tender mercy the peace we do not deserve. We pray for our president our Congress and our courts. But they may sustain and defend religion and morality without which no nation can long endure. Save us most of all from ourselves. Restore love to our broken homes. The joy of a good conscience to our frustrated lives. The four freedoms to the enslaved peoples of the world and to our foolishness give the wisdom of thy ways. Make us new men and light our lives. In particular we pray for the people of Russia that individually and as a nation they may realize their fondest hopes and know thee freely and openly O Christ whom they now love and serve in secret. Not for our worthiness but for thy mercy grant us these traditions O Christ Jesus son of the living God. O Christ Jesus son of the living God. O Christ Jesus son of the living God.
